Mrs. Maria Tollefson, long-time school principal in the Diocese of San Diego, has gone home to the Lord, following a short battle with cancer. During the most recent years, she lovingly served the dedicated community of St. Didacus Parish School. We had the pleasure of working with Mrs. Tollefson during the filming of the school’s 75th Anniversary Video, and she was a real joy to have on camera.

In 2017, Mrs. Tollefson has also been working with local committee members to help plan the Italian Catholic Federation‘s 2018 Annual Conference which will be held at the Town & Country Hotel in Mission Valley.

The Diocese of San Diego, Office for Catholic Schools wrote today, “The Office for Catholic Schools is deeply saddened to inform you that Maria Tollefson, principal at St Didacus School, passed away in her sleep on the morning of November 2. We are relieved that her passing was peaceful, painless, and that she was with family. We take comfort in knowing that she is now in God’s gentle and loving care.”
